Which ship to St. Petersburg?

How can I find out which cruise ships dock close to the center of St. Petersburg, Russia? I've heard that the big ships must stay a long way away. We also are looking for a ship with an informal dress code in the evenings.

Only the yacht-size ships dock in the center of town, i.e. Seabourn.

I went to St. Petersburg on the Radisson Diamond. While I loved the ship, it did not please me to be docked at a disgusting and noisy commercial port, more than a half hour away from the city. The trip in went through some pretty seedy neighborhoods -- not very scenic.

Lew is correct about the Seabourn ships docking in the center. The Seavourn Pride was tied up within walking distance of the Hermitage. Silver Cloud was there, too, and in the old days, the small Renaissance ships called at St. Petersburg, too. I think the Crystal ships go right up the Neva River and into the center, as well. The best thing to do is ask your travel agent to investigate it for you.
