Which lines discount for under 2's?
I know that RCCL and Celebrity don't, but does anyone know which lines offer discounts for under 2 years old? Thanks.

Grumpy people hope that cruiselines avoid giving discounts for young kids. That will reduce the number of crying babies on ships.

Because someone doesn't want to listen to a crying baby, that makes them grumpy?

Discount or not, we're going (including a baby who will occasionally cry). Does anyone have an answer?

Sunquest vacations has two small ships "the Sunbird" and "the Sundream". They often offer free cruising for children under 12 travelling with parents in same cabin. It is a shorter cruise, usually not more than 7 days and the boats are smaller and older. The Sundream is Royal Carribbean's "Song of Norway" They are in the Caribbean in the winter and in Europe in the summer. You still have to pay port charges and air for chldren, but it is the only cruise I have found that has any kind of discount for children. I believe all other lines charge full price for children. If anyone knows of any others, I am sure there are alot of parents out there that are interested.

I believe Disney discounts.

Not sure but I THINK NCL only charges port and taxes for babies under 2.

This is a great thread. I will make sure to keep this in mind when taking a cruise and I will specifically avoid the lines that encourage crying babies with such discounted rates.

We've cruised Princess and HAL. We have two kids who share our room. We always get a discounted rate, but that may be third and fourth person rates as opposed to specific discounts for children. Don't think we have ever asked...
Some airlines will fly babies under two for free if they don't require a seat. One carrier we used offered the bulk head with a special device to lock the baby seat in place on take off and landing... Would have to inquire in advance. |
