Which is Better?
Which of the two is a nicer ship? Constellation(Celebrity) OR voyager Of The Sea(Royal)? I'm not really interested in rock climing or iceskating. My wife and I are foodies and both are 30 Years old. I have heard before that they are about the same quality.

If you can actually believe it, the Carnival's food is getting better and great review.
Celebrity had (past tense) a great reputation for food but I find the quality has gone down hill and is passable at best. Outside of a specialty brunch that they do on a sea day, the rest of the food is average.
You mentioned "foodies" on your post. Here are the facts:
They serve thousands of meals a day. The best you can hope for in good food on a cruise ship is equilavent to a good convention center hotel food. It is mass produced. It is no where close to 3 star quality, never mind 5 stars.
With that said, you should not lower your expectation. They should be able to give you your prime rib rare and poached eggs soft if that is what you have asked for. I know many fine hotel dining rooms can't even do that.
On the other hand, certain specialty (for a fee) restaurants on the cruise ships are quite good and is near or at the 3 stars or better level. Sabatini's on the Princess ships is one of them.
If you can defind "foodie" better, maybe I can comment more. Some ships offer more traditional fare food (baked onion soup, escargoes) and some offer more "fusion" and more up to date food taste.
At our most recent Princess cruise (last week) I was surprised to hear the chef mentioned that they brought on board 28,000 pouunds of beef bones to make soup stock and all sauces are made from scratch. That's a very strong statement. But they still can't get me soft boil eggs for breakfast and I have all but given up in asking or send them back. It's getting better, I get my eggs done the right way every 1 in 3 tries. What frustrated me was I get two eggs, one done right and the other one is hard as a rock.
