Which cruise line to take??
My family (parents and 3 siblings) is planning a cruise to the Caribbean in Dec. to celebrate my father's 75th, my sister's 50th and my 40th. We all have families with children between 2-11. There is so much info out there, it is overwhelming.
My question is which cruise line really is the best for that time period and this group? My parent's biggest issue is the ship itself and their crew. My siblings issues are more how accomodating are they to kids, grandparents and some serenity. We are not doing Disney or Celebrity as we have heard and seem poor reviews. Any thoughts out there???

Celebrity is a good choice and you might want to look at Royal Caribbean also - they generally have something for everyone - I personally love Celebrity but you will find fewer children on board. I have sailed on both of these as well as Carnival.

I cruised (second time ever) with Royal Caribbean (Freedom of the Seas) for Christmas with my parents last year. GREAT ship. Lots to entertain all age groups. The older children will love the rock climbing wall and flow rider...I did and I'm 30something but a child at heart.
Big kids will love the casino, wine bar, and English pub.
And everyone can enjoy activities and shows.

As already suggested, Royal caribbean and Princess have a offerings for that age group. However, I have cruised with my now 8 yeara old and 5 year old 3 times on RC and twice on princess. They are just about the same, but for kids activities RC has a whole lot more to offer. The kids definitely prefer RC too. In my experience, there are a lot more older folks on Princess than RC.

I've been reading up on the RC cruises quite a bit and it seems taht would be more suitable for all the kids too. There is a newer ship out, The Independence. That is the one that I think we are looking at for the Caribbean this winter.
Is it too "active" for my parents? They are 74 and 75...not really old in behavior but certainly not the adventurous types or the ones who would get with the rahrah cheerleader type of crew. Anyone been on the Independence?
By the way, thanks for all the help and responses! All the suggestions have been great to research.
