Where to get the bargain
 

I know many people think its crude to be frugal but my question is where is this best place to book your Disney Cruise. The only time we can go is Christmas so that is more expensive.

Crude to be frugal? I think it's smart, that's how I go on 3 or 4 vacations a year instead of 1.<BR><BR>Anyway, despite the fact that I pride myself on being a great bargain hunter, I think you're out of luck finding a deal at Disney over Christmas. I cruised DCL in March one year during our school vacation, but now that our vacation is President's week, the Disney cruises are booked months in advance at full fare. It's just too popular a destination at the most in demand week of the year.<BR><BR>I think you either have to pick an off-peak week or choose another cruiseline, and even then it will be tough to find any cruiseline offering significant discounts Christmas week.

Hmmm - last June I cruised on the Carnival Pride and a couple at our table told us that they were Florida residents and Disney offers cruises to Florida residents at 50% off during one or two weeks a year.<BR><BR>If you are a Florida resident, look into that because if Disney is 50% off then it would be comparable pricing to all other cruises.

It won't be 50% off on a Christmas cruise.

Disney cruise is the hardest to get a good rate on. The earlier you book the better the rate, especially during the busy times.

Definitely book as early as possible. Disney operates on tiered pricing and when the lowest prices are sold, then, the prices just get higher and higher. Disney sticks to those tiers like glue! The ships are also almost always full, so they don't have last-minute specials, except when they have a few remaining cabins and offer those at steep discounts to Florida residents. However, Christmas probably sells out 10-12 months in advance. You might want to find a travel agent who is holding bulk space for Christmas - they will definitely have the best rates for the holidays, spring break, summer months and all of the most popular dates.

Forget the Disney Cruise. They are WAY overpriced! If you are worried about the kids having a good time, don't be. RCCL, Carnival and Princess all have great kids program. And Disney doesn't have a casino, if that interests you. I'd look at BestPriceCruises.com They have great rates and a lot of info. Also, depending on your kids ages, they can be pulled out of school and if they are in elementary, no big deal. Good luck!

I just got an email from set2sail.com and they advertise a 7 night disney cruise (Magic) during June for $899 and during September for $799. Also they have 4 night cruises on the Wonder for $459 and 3 night cruises on the Wonder for $379.

Who knows if there is a catch, but these prices seem pretty good considering that Disney is generally more expensive than most other popular lines.
