When arriving in port of call.

When you arrive in each port I understand there is a list of trips for each port.We will be taking a 12 day cruise on the Millennium a Celebrity ship traveling from Barcelona ,Nice France ,Florence Italy ,Civitavecchia Italy ,Capri Santorini Greece Athens Greece, Groatia , And then Venice.Has anyone recently taken this cruise if so did any of these sidetrips have interest? Also would you know if this list is available anywhere on line.Thank you in advance. P.S we are going May 2007.

Before your cruise, you will get a booklet listing all the ship's shore excursions in each port.

Barcelona, Santorini, Venice, Split and Dubrovnik are very easy to do on your own if you do a little research online or at the library.

If you go to Celebrity webpage and enter your reservation number, you can see in some detail the excursions offered at each port.

Cruise-sponsored trips often cost more than self-arranged but have advantage of convenience and guarantee that the ship will not leave port without you if you are one of their excursions.

Its better to do it on your own I think because it will be alot less, you have the distinct advantage of privacy and you are on YOUR time. You can arise when you please and go and come as you please. Just do the research, it won't be alot really, make a list of what you want to see, cut a deal and go. In Rome we rented a cab for the entire day, saw the sites that the ships tour offered, saved a whopping $300.00 and did it in far less time as well. A simple and time effective way to do research is to go to the ships web site and look at what the have to offer. The highlights of that particular stop will no doubt be listed there. Have fun. You should really enjoy the Med. Larry
