How do cruise lines make a profit and stay in business?<BR>Revenue in Bars and Casinos is one major area.<BR>How many children drink alcohol and gamble on a cruise?<BR>How many young families can afford to run up huge bar bills and spend long nights in the casino? Not many.<BR>Disney must charge more in other areas to stay in business.

Yes Charles as mentioned above they do charge more for the cruise. There is also an even mix of passengers without children (just love Disney) to those with children.<BR>There are just as many adult bars and lounges on a Disney ship as there are on other cruise lines.<BR><BR>Paul

You will LOVE your Disney cruise, and your kids will too, although you may never see them. We just got back from a "girls trip" on the Disney Wonder last week and had a blast. Can't wait to go back with kids just to see their eyes light up like saucers when they see Donald and Cinderella! Be sure to book a "grownups" night at Palo as soon as you board. It was AMAZING. But don't miss dinner at Animators Palate, either. Another great adult get-away is the spa. Try the Tropical Rainforest one day. You won't want to leave, so do that one if it rains one afternoon. The wine tasting at Palo was also fun and interesting. The shows are fabulous... Much, much fun!! If you are going to skip anything, the snorkeling on Castaway Cay wan't worth writing home about. Overall, The extra expense is well worth it -- Don't think I would be satisfied with another cruise line after such a great Disney experience. They take care of every detail down to the letter -- it is a first class operation!! Bon Voyage : )

Paul,<BR>You are correct. Disney has many bars aboard - but the passengers are not buying very much in them. As I mentioned before, children and young parents are not the best beverage patrons - unless you own a McDonalds. Disney Bar Revenues are about half what the other lines get.
