What do you think about Carnival?
Is it just a party boat? Swinging singles? Or is that misinformation?
Thinking about taking the teens this summer, Carribean or Mexico. Want to leave out of CA. Just wondering if those 3 night cruises are big drunk scenes. And, how is the food? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |
I am surprised no one has replied to this in two days. This is usually a hot topic. Personally I think they have an undue reputation as a ship for party animals. We have not experienced this at all. The food was very good, better than the fare on RCCL in our experience. I would go Carnival again.

Ditto the previous post! I'd go Carnival again in a heartbeat. Their food and service beat RCCL, in my experience.

Just a bunch of necks on CCL in my opinion.

There is no doubt about the fact that the shorter cruises, whether they be Carnival or RCCL draws people who can't afford the longer cruises and those people (at the risk of generalizing) are younger, more single than married, and ready to blow off some steam. Its also a fact that the cruise lines in general train their new staff on the shorter cruises and older ships before they transfer the best to the longer itineraries and newer ships.
Now, given all that, if I were to pick one - RCCL hands down. Read some of the reviews on the various cruise chat boards. Your odds of having a rowdy neighbor is better on Carnival than RCCL. Its just three or four days and who needs sleep - right? Peter (the real one) |
