What are your favorite foods to order?

I don't know if all the RCCL ships serve the same foods but we're going on Jewel of the Seas soon and I'd like to know what you prefer to order, or what you think they do particularly well. On our last cruise (Holland America) there were some items they did very well, and others I'd never order again--like the Baked Alaska where the meringue wasn't baked!.

We'll be on the Jewel 1/15/05 and if it's anything like the Serenade, the food will be great. Every ships food tastes different. Most of the seafood is good, you'll just have to try different things out for yourself. Have fun!!

Best trick I've learn is simply to ask your waiter what is good at each meal. They want to please you and once you get their trust they'll tell you whats good and what to stay away from.

I always order food that I can't get, or don't normally make at home. I always try some of the different soups and I always get the escargot and frogs legs. I never eat the steak or lobster tails. I've never had a good ones on a cruise ship.

Experiment!!!

I'm with Budman. I always try to experiment and get all the things I'd never get at home. Enjoy

I'm trying to acquire a taste for seafood, which I don't really have. I have ordered a salmon filet to go with my steak and it's always come as a wonderful accompaniment.

Also, I've tried frog's legs and snails, because you can!

I think the chilled soups (usually a different one every night) coconut creme brulee, flourless chocolate cake, salmon dishes were all very good.

We sailed RCCL in Alaska. Even my kids loved the chilled soups. We ate all the meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) in the dining room. The buffet food was ok but nothing extraordinary so we opted for sit down service. The kids took in the buffet for their in-between meal snacks.
