What accomodations would you recommend?

Starting to think about a family Xmas cruise.
How would you buy staterooms/beds for the following:
1 great grandmother
grandparent couple
single mom with 2yr old
married son couple with
2 boys ages 14 and 16

I would probably get cabins for the following:

1 cabin for grand parent couple

1 cabin for great grandmother with single mom and 2 year old (triple)

1 cabin for married couble

1 cabin for teens.

=----------

You can do it cheaper and with less cabins (put married couble with 2 boys in the same cabin) but that is so tough! 4 people on top of each other with only 1 bathroom.

I don't think the great grandmother should be subjected to sharing a cabin with a two year old. I think she should have her own cabin.

I think we should consider who is paying for this trip. Is each paying his/her own way or is some generous person paying for all. Maybe great grandma and single mom with 2 y.o. would not mind sharing expenses and sharing cabin. Maybe married couple can't afford two cabins. It's always more expensive to cruise over Christmas, and rooms fill up quickly, so I wouldn't wait too long. Theresa's suggestions were very good and I still think it's important to consider who is paying. BTW, in my family the great grandmother would be fighting to get the cabin with the 2 year old and the young mom. To each her own.

Jasmine - you are right. Holiday sailings are expensive. It also depends on what ship. Some ships have conjoining rooms or famly suites which may be a better option here.

"Conjoining" I like that word. I just recently read about the Hotel definition difference between "adjoining"(on the same floor) and "connecting"(door between).
I think I'll start with family suites

OK - typo. Adjoining cabins :)

Good luck in your research.
