Whale watch trip in Kenai or Juneau?
Planning an Alaskan Cruise for next August and wondering if taking the Kenai Fjords boat trip on an overnight in Seward would be very repetitive of the whale watch trip I hope to do during the Juneau POC. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Also has anyone done the bike trip from White Pass in Skagway?

Chris I've done both trips and I'd suggest that you do as well. The whale watch in Juneau is geared just to whales, although you will see other wildlife, most of your time is spent looking for/at whales. The trip is only a couple of hours and the boat is small enough to get as close as the law allows. On the other hand the Kenai National Park cruise is 6/7 hours long and whales are just one of the many types of wildlife that you will see.The Kenai trip was for me and many others the highlight of our Alaskan trip.

I agree with Charlie. The Kenai Fjords are spectacular.

Paul

Another yes for Kenai Fjords tour. What a delight! Orcas, humpback whales, sea lions, harbor seals, glacier calvings, were only a part of it. Don't go all the way to Alaska and not see this.

I've noticed that there are several tour options listed. To those that have gone, which is best?

Thanks to all for the information! I actually lived in Ketchikan for 4 years in the 90's, but was too young and poor to afford to travel much and NEVER saw a single whale while living there.
