Weather

We are taking our first cruise from Helsinki to St Petersburg in late July and would like some advice on appropriate clothing for day and evening. No idea how the weather will be, so any help would be appreciated. Thank you Risally

It can't be certain of course but plan on having layers like a sweater and a light, water proof jacket or a medium jacket. This should do. Jeans or cotton pants should be fine and you may want to bring some shorts too just in case it's unusually warm. We were there mid June and did not use shorts though could have on some days. Late July should be a bit cooler.

July seems to be the hottest month. Bring light clothing.

Oops! I looked up average temps for those ports and July is indeed a bit warmer.

Many thanks for advice. Makes packing easier. Are evenings formal?

What ship? NCL is never formal and the other mass market lines have two formal nights per cruise usually.

Then typically there will be two formal nights. Other nights will be smart casual so that means basically no shorts or t-shirts. Just wear some nice pants and shirt. A polo will be fine. These days dress codes are pretty loose in terms of how they are inforced. Have fun. Larry
