We Just Got A Huge Cruise Discount!
The price for our October Mediterranean cruise on Regent was just lowered $1800 pp.!
Has anyone else just received a cruise discount? I have to guess the ships are not filling, so prices are being lowered. I'm not complaining, but I wonder if cruise lines are in financial trouble. |
Both Royal Caribbean and NCL just cancelled some of their Eastern Med cruises for the late fall and winter, so I suspect they just aren't filling up very well because of ridiculous airfares and nervousness about unrest in the Middle East (not to mention strikes in Greece).

I have been receiving offers from the luxury lines for some time which have offered big discounts. Yes, they must be hurting. Some of the reason is the overall economy as well.

I am getting up to 75% off and better offers
Eastern Med cruises especially are not booking well Destination in the middle east and africa are almost all experiencing unrest and are far from over. insuremytrip.com and monitor travel.state.gov would be very wise for me. Still some GREAT deals for those willing to take risks and be flexible. Find my best deals board discussions ship reviews cruisecritic.com Travel Bookings are up for cruises in other areas things are picking up this summer for most. Happy Hunting! |
The unrerst funnily enough doesn't worry me too much but what has really annoyed me this year and prevented me from booking a cruise yet (cruise number 16) is the fact that the cruise companies have all jumped on the same band wagon and made cruises 10-11 days, but they are still charging the same price as a 2 week cruise....WAKE UP CRUISE COMPANIES, you will not get bums on beds charging high prices for 10days... get back to 14+ days.

The airfare/fuel costs coming from the US is the main reason that cruise lines are discounting Europe this summer. They can't fill their ships. If you are in the position to take advantage of these discounts then congrats!
