Wager with Wife regarding QE2
As first time passengers on the QE2 for a transatlantic cruise, London to NY this summer, I've got a big bet with the wife.

Must I have a tuxedo for this voyage?
We are not booked into the Upper Class category (my wife lovingly refers to our cabin as the "steerage" class) so I'm betting that such formal attire won't be needed. I think I can get by with a sports coat and tie, even on the most formal nights since we are not dining in the Queens Grill.
If I need a tux, I need to know before we leave for London, otherwise if I'm wrong, my VISA card will be visiting Harrods without me!
Any other comments or opinions about QE2 and your experiences with this ship & Cunard line would also be most appreciated.
Thank you all very much.
Jack

You need either a dark suit or a tuxedo for formal nites--it is in your document pkg from QE2 stating the dress. I have friends on the cariona deck in the caronia dining room and she is taking some formal pant sets, long gowns and short cocktail dresses. He husband IS taking a tux but the card from QE2 says a dark suit is acceptable. However, a sport coat is NOT the appropriate thing to wear on formal nite.

Dear Andy:
OK I guess my tux gets a trip to the cleaners before I get on the QE2.
Thank you for the info. I have not yet received all our travel documents so I do not have access to the ship's brochure.
You have just saved my credit card from a terrible "Pounding" at Harrods!

Jack
Looks like you lost your bet Jack.

Oh well, if your tux does not fit you can always rent one on the ship.

Happy sailing.

Paul
