Voyager or Navigator

Hi, I am a single mom with two kids, 8 and 11. Which ship is better? I am concerned only for their experience, not mine, and the two ships seem similar!

I would prefer not to have to wait in insanely long lines for everything...

Thoughts from the experts?

They are exactly the same. The only difference is going to be the itinerary, so pick whichever is prefereable. The Navigator is newer than the Voyager, but other than that, they are built from the same mold.

Since you don't want to wait in insanely long lines, why not go with something other than the biggest ships at sea? RCCL has great kids programs on all it's ships, what about one of the Radiance class ships? Fewer passengers may mean shorter lines.

Once I mentioned the skating rink, it was all over...they are pretty stoked about being on a ship with a rink. After the tough year we have all had, they deserve a treat, so if lines are the way it has to be, then I can deal with it!

Thanks for the info...

I'm sure the lines won't be bad. My SIL and her extended family (of 26!) have sailed the Voyager for 2 years in a row, the kids have a great time. I've heard nothing but great reviews from them.

I narrowed my ships down to the Voyager and the Navigator. They are nearly identical. Voyager only goes to the western caribbean whereas the Navogator alternates between the east and the west.

Other than that, the ships are nearly identical. Both offer ice skating, roller blading, rock wall etc. The only noticeable difference that is that the Navigator has 2 of those fancy restaurants (the ones that charge you $20 per person) instead of the one that Voyager has. Also the navigator has a separate food area called Jade which serves chinese type foods and can reduce the lines.

Obviously the Navigator is newer (just started sailing in December 2002 or January 2003).
