voyager atrium cabins
 

has anyone ever had one of these atrium promenade cabins on voyager of the seas? are these rooms noisy because they are above the atrium which is apparently like a city street? help...

If you are clostraphobic they will give your room a more open feel. They are on several levels and yes, they can be noisy due to people, activities, etc. If it were me, they are not worth the money (from the inside cabins). I'd much sooner save the money, or get a view that changes, by getting an outside cabin. It's like getting a hotel room that looks into a lobby or atrium.

I can't offer you any advice yet! I can tell you this though, I am booked in a TR/Atrium room for Explorer of the Seas on 5/31/03. I got the deal of a lifetime, being that I am paying less than an inside m/n/o/p/q for the Atrium room!!! 549 total! Cruise Brothers is definitely the way to go...

jsargent34 did get a great deal. i was also offered the $549 price on the same sailing (first week in June) but my price quote from cruise.com was for an inside cabin without a view.<BR><BR>I decided to go with cruise.com because they found me an inside cabin (no view) on the NAVIGATOR for $564. i prefer sailing on the newer ships, so i am happy.<BR><BR>I have read that most people with an atrium cabin keep the curtains closed 95% of the time for privacy. Since it costs a few hundred more (i think $150 or $200 more per person) than an interior cabin with no view, i would think money is better spent paying $300 more (than an interior cabin with no view) and getting a cabin with a small window. The only problem with the latter suggestion is that on Voyager class ships, the cheap rooms with windows are on decks 2 and 3. The cheap rooms with no view are no lower than deck 6. I can't remember on what deck the atrium cabins start on.

Just to let you know, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a room on deck 2. We had two connecting ocean view rooms on the Explorer and thought they were perfect. I was concerned that we would feel like we were in the dungeon, but it was perfect. Very quiet, no kids running up and down the hall all night, and since we were at the end of a hallway, no foot traffic at all. I wouldn't hesitate to book on a lower deck next time (and not a twinge of sea sickness either).

Hi: We just got back from the Voyager of the Seas, Apr 6th-13th/03. We got an upgrade to the TR promenade inside rooms deck 7. It was super, quiet, airy and the two rooms were connecting. The couches are along side of the bowed window like a window seat. We always get inside or cheapest available cabins, usually way down in the bottom and have always thought it was fine. However, I really noticed the convenience of being able to walk a couple of floors up or down from the room this trip. We were mid way between elevators so convenient. Also as far as the noise, we found that the lower inside cabins were far noiser than the atrium cabins. We had to set a watch to make sure we were up in time to get the day started. Psydocnr do not hesitate to get this type of room , we had 7301-03. The promenade is only extremely busy during the Sunday night Parade and Mardi Gras parade. Karen
