Does anyone know if visas are required for visits to Turkey?

No if Turkey is one of your ports of call during your cruise.

If you don't have one through your cruise line, you can get one upon arriving in Turkey.

I visited 2 ports in Turkey and no visa was necessary.

Funny that people ask on a chat board about critical passport/visa requirements that can, if not done correctly, completely wreck their vacation. One MUST go directly to the consulate or embassy website of the country in question and find out FOR SURE what the rules and requirements are. Otherwise you can be in for a very nasty suprise when you are denied entry of worse yet denied initial boarding by the cruise line....

I agree with Curt about getting with embassies and consulates to make sure that all of your visas are in order. It is the mission of those diplomats to ensure that visitors have all of the correct paperwork. The thing is it's very hard to get correct information from the officials. Long ago, I called Mexican embassy to ask if visa is required for US citizens for cruise to Mexico, and the answer was yes. Why not, if they make money out of it? Cruise lines reps don't know it and most of the times, would just give you the same answer "yes" just to be safe. Visa wouldn't hurt, right? Sure, but it can be a big waste of time and money. I find experienced travelers info more credible than clerks who probably never traveled.

this isthe exact answer.
youdo not need visa if youare not arriving or leaving country to board or disembark your ship.
for example if you are in thre country for a shore excrsion no visa.
otherwise you need visa which you can optain through Turkish Consulates at home or upon arrival at airportsof Tutrkey.
the fee if taken in Turkey is 20 usd for US citizensmore for Canadians.
For other nations please apply to turkish consulates.
