Venice Airport to San Basilio Pier

Hi-Anyone have any low cost/low stress hints for mid-day transport from Marco Polo to the pier? Don't want to ride a bus to get a train to get a cab to walk with baggage etc etc......Taking a cab might be least tiresome but maybe someone knows of water bus that gets the job done.....Thanks!

Yup - just returned .

For 10E you can take the vaporetto
Aliguana (sp?) right to the San
Basio Stop which is about one city
block from the terminal.

There is only 1 set of steps & w/my
rolling luggage it was not
problematic.
What ship you on??

Taking 14 day cruise/tour on 61 pax MV Monet on 11/2/05. My travelling companion is early 70s and I do not want to stress her unduly just to save a few dollars. If this vaporetta trip is dead easy, then we might give it a whirl. Thanks!!

Oh, you lucky person...the MONET
tied up next to us & I've been wanting to sail on her for a while but alas,
the champagne taste & beer pocketbook do not match.

I have the Schedule if you indicate
what time you are arriving I can give you a better feel for it.
I would strongly taking the Vap. if you
have Not seen Venice before.
It is a local tho - takes 1-1/2 hrs &
stops next to San Basilio which is
not a prob w/rolling luggage.
If your companion is infirm, then do
spring for the expensive water or land taxi
Doing the Adriatic??

We arrive mid-day on a Sabena flight and can't get onboard til 4ish. If you have a link to the ferry schedule, that'd be great. We are doing one of their special spring/fall trips which is cheaper than you'd think. We have 2 weeks of land tours and cruising with lots of time spent at several ports. We booked through www.travltips.com as they were 15% cheaper than Elegant Cruise Lines (the owner of the Monet). Thanks for your help. My friend isn't infirm we're just not interested in humping luggage unnecessarily. Haven't been to Venice in years but the vaporetta sounds like a scenic way to get to pier and kill some time!! Thanks!!

Sorry was out of town so to answer:
It appears that there are 2 bases for
the ships: the smaller (or possibly
no-big-names sail from San Basilio
& larger ones from Bacino Stazione
Marittima.
The Alilaguna (www.Alilaguna.it)
goes from Aeroporto to Stazione
Maritima .
www.vtp.it is website or the Venezia Terminal Passeggeri.
Hope this helps.
