Uniworld - Italy

We are thinking of taking a river cruise to Italy early Sept. On another travel board, a poster claimed to have a horrible experience with Uniworld.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone re:
Uniworld River Cruises, either pro or con.
Thanks.
Hi Elaine,

Uniworld is a good company. Peter Deilman and Viking River are a little better.

You did not mention what the horrible experience was.

Paul

Paul,

Re: "horrible experience": since I would be reporting this 'third hand' it seems inappropriate. I read a posting on CruiseCritic from a passenger who is irate. I agree, Peter Deilman river boats (the cabins in particular) look nicer than Uniworld.
Would like to hear from anyone who has taken a recent Europe river cruise.
Hi Elaine,

I have been on many riverboats and barges and found that the more money you spend the better the experience as far as tours, ambiance and food.

Paul

I have booked several clients on Peter Dielman, river cruises, they alwasy come home happy, uniworld cruises are not bad just a little more budget conscious, just depends on your needs, I also sell P&O River cruises, they are spectacular
