Tunis terror attack. MSC and Costa in port, passengers possible victims.
|
Arabic language media is currently reporting that the dead are cruise passengers. Time will tell, but it currently doesn't bode well.
I sure hope this is wrong though any victim is so sad. |
Oh, how horrible for those people and their families. It must be pretty difficult for the rest of the passengers, too.
We went to the Bardo Museum on a cruise stop; it's a wonderful museum, and we felt very safe travelling throughout the city. |
Oh God I just saw that the bus carrying passengers from the ship was targeted. It's all shot up. Horrible news. What's wrong with these people???
|
We're scheduled on a Princess cruise that stops at Tunis in early June. They've just cancelled the stop for the cruise that precedes ours, and replaced it with Naples. I have a feeling we will get re-scheduled as well.
I guess I would prefer we don't stop there are this point, but I'm sorry to be missing the port. This is just a hideous event. |
I can't imagine ships stopping in Tunis for a very long time. If Doug is around I wonder what he thinks.,
|
It took until yesterday, but Princess finally informed us we would not be stopping in Tunis. I'm both disappointed and relieved.
The good news is they substituted Malta which is what I was hoping for, if a sub had to be made. |
Malta is pretty cool. Have you been there before?
|
I have not, so I'm definitely looking forward to it.
I had such mixed feelings about Tunis though. We really wanted to go see Carthage and see the Bardo, it was one of the main attractions of this particular itinerary. And I didn't really want to give it up, but at the same time I was nervous about going. Malta will be great though. there is a ton to see there. |
Have you heard of the Jesus tree there?
