Transportation options from Orlando to Port Canaveral

We will be cruising on the Disney Wonder and would like to know what options we have for transportation from Orlando to Port Canaveral.
Thank you.

Hi Deb,

It is a liong ride and a cab would be too expensive.

The Mears shuttle will charge you $30 per person round trip for their coach bus. Only runs on cruise days. www.mearstransportation.com

If you have a large family you may consider renting a car but I doubt you will save much money and with the pick-up and drop off time it may not be the best option.

For convenience purchase cruiseline transfers.

I posted a similar question on U.S. board and the only response I got was Mears as well. My problem is we will be having our wedding on Carnival Fantasy out of Port Canveral. We will board ship at 11a.m. for wedding so our group, about 25-30 family members will be flying into Orlando the night before and transporting to Radisson at Port Canveral to spend the night. Rental cars are not an option for that many people (cost prohibitive) what are other options as Mears only runs on cruise days?

Ok here are all of the options I can come up with:
1)Disney Cruise Line transportation. This is very easy and you never have to worry about a thing! (They can take you to the WDW Resorts first.) Call and see if you are interested in doing so.

2)Rental car--this worked out very very well for us!@ We flew into Orlando, rented a car, drove to WDW for the night. Next day we drove out to the Port and dropped the car at the Avis station at the Raddison! This was by far the cheapest option as the rental fee was not high and you did not have to pay for parking or anything like that.
(We then just used the DCL transportation back to the airport...again this was cheapest and convenient for us.)

3)Mears-- you could book a van if you have a lot of people.

4) Tiffany Town Car (www.tiffanytowncar.com is their address I believe.) they are a towncar/limo service. (Keep in mind however, that if you are doing Tiffany or Mears and are going to WDW first, the cost is going to add up.)

Hope that helps! For those going on the Disney cruise...enjoy it was an absolutle blast!

Congrats Sea Bride on your upcoming wedding!

My family of five is doing a WDW vacation/cruise in a few months. We bought the Disney transfers because for $68 each they will:
1. Pick us up at the Orlando airport, transfer us to our Disney hotel and check us in immediately.
2. They'll pick us up at Disney and transfer us to Port Canaveral, put our luggage on board and we just board (our room key is our cabin key, as well).
3. Take us from Port Canaveral back to the airport in Orlando at the end of the cruise.
This seemed to be the best and least expensive option.

sorry I should have mentioned that we rented a car for one day for $30 and I believe the one-way return on DCl was 20 or 30 something.

Last June, I planned a group trip of 20+ went to Port Canaveral to go on a wedding cruise with some friends(I went also). Flew into Orlando, rented a van 1 way/1 day for $40 through Budget, stayed at the Holiday Inn Cable Beach where the wedding took place overlooking the beach, went on a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas, rented another van to get back to the airport. $80 round trip for 6 people is pretty cheap transportation. you can pick up the car right at the airport, drop off at Pt Canaveral and the rental car company takes you to the ship!
