Transatlantic Cruise

Hi. Looking at an Oct 2023 cruise (Rome, Florence,Nice, Malaga, Gibraltar, Ponta Delagada, Bermuda, Florida) and would love to know what to expect for weather while we have 4 days of sailing. Will it be nice enough to be outside and at pool, or is it too cold? Anything else we should consider? Thanks!

When in October? There can be a significant difference in average daytime temperatures between early and late October. At the latitude you’ll be sailing in early October average daytime temps are usually on the mild side - think high 70’s F. to possibly low80’s F. And perhaps as much as 10 degrees F. lower toward the end of the month. Keep in mind when the ship is cruising at sea the apparent wind will make it feel cooler. Only Mother Nature can tell you what the actual temperature will be the days the ship will be “at sea” - suffice to say it could be very nice or it could be unpleasant.

Do you know about Cruise Critic? There you can find a lot of experienced cruisers who may have first hand knowledge.

Yes, exactly when will you be crossing the open Atlantic?

Is the cruise you are considering Royal Caribbean, Odyssey of the Seas, departing Rome on October 27th, 2023? It looks like the only one with your itinerary. It is really mostly in early November. You can check average temperature at that time in different ports, but I think it would be pretty chilly on the ocean by then.
