Tours for cruise passengers in Aruba

I have the "Caribbean Ports of Call" paperback from Fodors. The only private tour company mentioned in the book takes you to the same places as Royal Caribbean but the prices are actually higher that the cruise line prices. DePalm WaterSports (www.depalm.com). Does anyone have any private tour companies in Aruba - date is Tuesday, May 19.

Hi ziggydoo (I like that name :) )

We've been to Aruba 4 times now while cruising and there are lots to do. We have rented a jeep and did the island on our own. It was great. We even took the bus once to go a beach and snorkel. Next time, we want to try the ATV tours.

You'll find a list of things to do and some tour operators on my site here http://www.carib-cruises.com/things-to-do-in-aruba.html

Hope this helps.

Have a great cruise.
Lise

Thanks Lise,

Fantastic and helpful page!

I've rented a car for the day on a cruise stop in St. Thomas and really enjoyed it and sounds like this would be more like home(driving on right instead of left like St. Thomas). To me that sounds like the best idea.

We did the atv tour in Aruba in January 2008. It was fantastic but if you don't like rough terrain, do something else. My husband was amazed at how deep some of the crack were but he was in heaven. We saw some great historic places, enjoyed the desert side as well as tropical. We would do it again.

We rented a Jeep for a few hours and drove the roadless side of the island and had fun doing so. Otherwise, I found Aruba pretty uninteresting.
