Tours By Local Excursions

Hello,

We have a European cruise in April, and we are trying to schedule Tours By Local Excursions. I am told that Viking has not yet let the ports know their itinerary and that is why when we go to the tours web site, we can not schedule any dates. Is this normal for Viking for the delayed itinerary to the ports? Is there a "Normal" time frame that the cruise lines let ports know their schedule.

Thank you JR

Is this a river cruise? If so water levels make a HUGE difference re when and where one docks. I just did a Danube/Main/Rhine cruise over Christmas and because of water issues we had to 'speed' through part of the Main/locks to beat the river closing and changed two different dock sites and they had to eliminate the day excursion to Rothenburg. It was still a wonderful cruise though.

Not to rain on your parade, but water levels can be an issue for river cruises. In the spring, you usually have to watch for high water.
This website explains general water issues for European rivers.

This one has some specific information on current water levels.

And, here is the Viking page on any itinerary changes.
