I will help end this quickly. Even if they plus in to your nose there is a limited bandwith that is open to the public. The one's that plug into the wall will have a greater chance of working than a standard set. If you want details I will try to expalin it in layman's terms but not now.

We sailed the Sovereign 2 yrs ago with our 14 month old. She DID not ruin anyones vacation. All 3 of us had a great time. We did not do the midnight buffet or some of the late shows. She was allowed to play in the playroom supervised when there was staff there. You have to check the schedule and your child has to be potty trained to participate in any programs. There is babysitting available but you need to sign up immediately upon arriving on the ship. When I booked I also requested the early dining schedule and a table by ourselves or with someone with kids. We got one by ourselves. There were alot of small children and kids sailing this cruise. All in all, we had a wonderful time and the staff was excellent with our daughter. Hope you have a great time!

Sorry you had to endure the ignorant comments from some respondents.

I am a mother of 5 children (ages 3,5,7,9,12) and we have cruised several times as we live in Florida.

I personally have never used baby monitors on board the ships as I do not leave the children unattended in the cabins.

I sailed Royal Caribbean in the mediterranean last summer and they have a great deal of children's activities. However, for a short cruise to the Bahamas we prefer Disney cruise as there is babysitting from infants and up. (a nursery is on board for infants and small children who are not potty trained).

AS far as the weather, the Bahamas are pretty much like Miami weather and in February can be quite windy and cold. Once in January we sailed and it was in the 50's and we were not able to use the beach or pool. Like yourself we are used to the warmer weather.

As for the uninformed above, not all children are potty trained by 3; and those that are not forced by their parents to do so have greater self esteem. You unfortunately must be one of those who were forced, hence you are hostile!!!!!

Where did you get this crazy idea?

Going around in dirty diapers does a lot of self esteem. Right.

Problem is the little dears have too much "self-esteem" these days. Seems to me that what it boils down to is that the longer they can get mommy to wipe them and change them, the longer they have mommy under control. Wait till they become teenagers. Besides, how good is it for their "self esteem" if they can't participate in activities with other 3-year olds because they are wearing diapers still?

Well good for you Sharon and everyone else who figures they should get a badge for potty training. Since when are we asked to be judge and jury of how other people raise their kids? The lady had some legitimate questions, none of which asked our opinion on when she should potty train or any of the other nasty comments that were given.
Come on people - let's try and be nice to each other!! This isn't a parenting forum, it's a travel/cruise forum. There is some absolutely great info here.
And that is my 2 cents worth!!
(and by the way my 2 kids were also potty trained by 2 - so what)

RE: RCI children's program
Due to USPH standards children with diapers are not allowed to enter the children's play area. I just wanted you to be properly informed before you go.
