The best cruise terminals you have visited?
Hi everyone,
I am a student and doing a homework about the major positive features of the world's most successful cruise terminals. So as a passenger or cruise operator, which cruise terminals you think they are satisfactory? Why you think they are good? Thanks for your help ! |
Do you me embarkation/disembarkation points or ports in terms of the most fun stuff to do?

Best cruise terminal - Vancouver's Canada Place.

Same as Eschew's response. Vancouver's Cananda Place was a breeze both ways.

Re: jacketwatch
I mean the embarkation/disembarkation ports in terms of the port size, facilities etc. Thanks for other comments! |
OK. I think some embarkation/disembarkation issues are influenced by timing. That is if you arrive early enough you can breeze through. That being said our easiest embarkations were in Papeete, Copenhagen, Acapulco and San Juan but only because we have learned to arrive a bit B4 the suggested embarkation time. In ACA we were too early and had to wait about 30 min. The Princess rep told us she would send out ment with carts to the waiting area when it was time and they came right on time so really we were on the ship in about 20 mins. Very easy. Now in Papeete I must say it was easy but only because we arrived around 2300 and could use the ship like a hotel as the departure was the nexy evening so getting on was a breeze. Converesly we have found that if you arrive at the suggested time or after look out. In NYC last month the boarding time was upped but we had no knowledge of this so we were in line for nearly 2 hrs. Someone I met on the ship told me they got the word, arrived earlier and were on in no time so I think no matter what port its the timing that can make a difference.

I have yet to see a truly good cruise terminal, in the sense of being at the same time, convenient, welcoming, entertaining-as in things to do while waiting. One side of San Juan(RCL) was ok - shabby, but convenient to sights and all. The other side - Celebrity- was dreary. They are all mostly a means to an end, a neceaasry evil, so to speak. Don't plan a cruise based on the terminal.
