Tauck River Cruises
 

I am considering a Tauck River cruise on the MS Esprit from Budapest to Amsterdam. Does anyone have any experience with the category 3 cabin? It is right next to the engine room and was wondering if it is excessively loud that you had trouble sleeping at night and was bothersome in other ways. Thanks for any info anyone has.

I can't help other than to say Tauck has an excellent reputation.

My guess is you might hear some vibration or perhaps muffled noise. You need to ask Tauck, preferably by email, so you have a record of their reply.

We went on an Amsterdam - Budapest Tauck river cruise late last year, loved it!!!! The best experience we have ever had. My wife and I had a cabin on the lower lever, about three cabins down from the central stairs down to that level. My sister and her husband had a cabin right across from us. The crew cabins were on that level at the back of the boat. We heard nothing except the quiet gentle water rushing along the side of the boat as we traveled at night. It was so soothing. I would have no reservations making that choice again, in fact I do not see the need in spending more for higher level of cabin when we spent so little time in it. Would love to do that cruise again.
