Taking alcoholic beverages on board

Do any of the cruise lines allow you to take your own alcohol/wine on board?

Contact the individual cruise line. Most allow wine but some deny hard spirits. The latter was OK with RCCL but verboten with Carnival.

Wine is fine. If you want to take liquor or beer, pack it well and put in your checked luggage. We take a bottle of rum with us. We mix it with the fruit punch and a splash of lemonade from the buffet and it makes a pretty decent mai tai.

Check with the individual cruiseline.

Radisson, Silverseas and Seabourn allow you to bring wine or any liquor on board (most don't though because it is provided on board).

I just realized my response probably doesn't make sense...I should have said most "people" don't feel the need to bring it on board as they provide wine, beer, liquor on board complimentary on those 3 cruise lines.

Again...you'll need to check with the specific cruise line you're going on as to their policy.

I just returned Friday May 28 from cruising Royal Caribbean's Monarch of the Seas. I called beforehand and they told me it would be no problem to bring a bottle of wine on board. When we boarded the ship there was a huge sign saying that ALL alcoholic beverages will be confiscated and returned to you at the end of the cruise. Thank God I had changed my mind about bringing that bottle of wine!!

That sign is always there. I have never had any alcohol confiscated on either Carnival or Royal Caribbean...Have carried it on in plain sight, not in checked baggage...They have the right to take it but to date I have never seen anyone enforcing this.

Babsi,
Pak your bottles carefully in wrapped towels or wrap carefully in soft clothes in the middle of the luggage. Bring a cup filled with alcohol and two other cups tp mix. Pour alcohol into cup and the fill with soda or juice. JUST BE DISCREET!! We have seen many passengers handle it this way, just observe. Enjoy, Barb_and_Lou

We always bring a couple bottles of our wine bubble-wrapped in checked luggage. That's 9 cruises so far, no big deal. I was amazed that some people managed to get 2 cases of beer aboard!!
