Tahitian Princess

I'm considering booking this previous R4 ship which Princess has just aquired but like a lot of people, I threw out the Renaissance book with the room descriptions. Anyone out there with an old book? Trying to find the difference between what Princess is now calling an AA suite vs. a BB balcony...thanks

JP Aug 13th, 2002 06:09 AM

I still have my R literature, but where did you see AA and BB mentioned? I don't see anything on the Princess site.
I still have my Ren brochure too but Princess has changed all of the categories. The stateroom numbers are still the same so if you give me a stateroom #, I can tell you exactly where it is on the ship and what kind of cabin it is. If I were to guess, I would say that a BB is probably the old Ren balcony cabin at 216 sq ft and an AA is the balcony suite at 322 sq ft.

Hi and thanks. We're looking at room 8008 and were told that that is Princess' category AA. Is it directly under the pool?

Patty Aug 14th, 2002 09:17 AM

mari,
8008 is not directly under the pool. The area on deck nine directly above your stateroom is open deck and also where the fitness/spa area begins. And it is one of the 322 sq ft balcony suites. Hope this helps.
322 sq. ft. balcony WOW! Most cabins aren't even that size. Go for it!

The deck 8 balcony cabins are the same depth from hallway to balcony as the deck 7 and below balcony cabins, but are 50% wider. They also have a full tub instead of a shower.

Hi Patty...thank you for the info. We've booked it, done and can't wait!

Mary Aug 19th, 2002 03:41 AM

To Mari: Where did you get the information to book the cruise? I went to Princess's web site and couldn't find any information about it. Please reply here I would love to know.

Hi Mary...Initially I received a few messages from different cruise co. that I had signed up with. Best price/service however was Kim's Kruises. What a terrific person! Hope this helps.

Thanks Mari. I'll be checking into these cruises. I only wish that Celebrity would go to the South Pacific. We know the Celebrity line quite well (have cruised with them 7X), but from what I hear Princess is a good choice also. Maybe we'll do the cruise in 2004.

Where on the internet can you find a deck plan for the R4 tahitian Princess?
We are really interested but there are three of us going so we need an outside balcony and an inside. The new cruise broucheres aren't out yet and I've been searching for info on what this ship is like and pricing.

I just looked for the deck plan on icruise (none available) but they DID have a holiday sailing , outside at $800. that sounded pretty good to me.
Have you ever tried that site? www.icruise.com It has a lot of info on it---menus,etc.
I loved the R3 that I sailed on last summer. Happy hunting!!

Just booked the Tahitian Princess for the Feb. 2,2003 sailing. Would like to connect with others sailing on this date. I have the old brochures with the layout of the ship. I have an outside on deck 7 with balcony which is a BB category. I booked through a consolidator called Cruises-N-More.
