Sun Princess Alaska
Has anyone taken the Sun Princess criuse (inside passage) to Alaska?
I read a few reveiws on another sight. Two out of three said they didn't get see to the glaciers ( boat turned, no explaination!). Also food was OK at best. One guy was so helpful. In his reveiw he was concerned in rating how hard it was to find bottle of Crown before the cruise in Seattle. That they don't deliver full bottles on the ship anymore & they price is very high in Alaska. He said he'd just smugggle some next time! |
I did this ship 2x to Alaska and it was fine - I liked the ship quite a bit. Food was very good.
You are doing a Tracy Arm route and due to ice, the ship may not be able to sail down the winding route to see the glaicers at the end. This is more of an issue for May and June sailings but can affect any sailing. |
OK I am a new at Alaska travel so give me some slack. when you say .. see glaicers at the end, does that mean you don't see any at all or just the, (i would think the largest) at the end?

The only glaciers are at the end. The scenery getting to the glaciers is beautiful but there are no glaicers along the way.
If glaciers are a priority - you should see if you can switch to a cruise that goes to Glacier Bay or Hubbard Glacier. |
Yes, we sailed the Sun last summer (Aug) to Alaska and it was okay....didn't get to see the glaciers,...and I wonder what percentage of the time they tell people that they just can't do it 'due to weather'..Other than this, had no complaints.
