Sun Cruises. Sunquest

We are thinking of taking a two week Meiterranean cruise on the sunbird in sept. Anyone have any info on the cruises. A touch of Africa/ Mediterranean classics, never sailed in the med nor on the sunbird any advice will help.
Thank you. K.H.
Hi Kathy,

Sun Cruises caters to Europeans. Their ships are old and they offer nice itineraries. Do not expect fabulous creature comforts on their ships. You more than likely received a great price and the itinerary is very good.

The Sunbird was built in 1982 and was refurbished quite some time ago in 1994. It was a beautiful ship in it's day when it was the Royal Caribbean's Song of America.

Paul

Kathy,

We just did Sunbird's Sunquest Southern Caribbean Cruise and it was wonderful. We did the Eastern Itinerary last year also, and it too was very enjoyable.

They do have great service, super itinerary's, and above all, are very moderately priced.

The split on the ship was about 70% British, and 30% Canadian. There were less than 10 U.S. passengers on that specific cruise.

They are not your 'top of the line' cruise...but are very, very good and a great way to see the Med.

Yes the ship is older, but still in ver good shape.

You will not be disappointed with this ship, but note, EVERYTHING onboard is in British Pounds....used to be American currency, but switched over within the past year.

Happy Sailing.

Thank you for your informative replies, We will give it a try and based on what Paul said re -pricing we will watch the prices and hope we get a good one. We chose this cruise based on the port stops so here goes.
Thanks. Kathy.

Just noticed your query re Sunquest. We just booked a Touch of Africa Cruise a few weeks ago. Got a great price but since then the price is even better ($1179 May 24, inside cabin.) Bel Air Travel out of Toronto seems to have the best prices. (We're from the London Ont area, but saw their ad in the Toronto Star. Port and transport taxes are the only extra, but amt to $299) We're sailing this week (leave May 10 from Toronto). I'll let you know how it went if you like.

Please keep in mind...

Althouth Bel Air Travel does have great prices...check out Avion's Travel Hotline...they also have a large ad in every Saturday Star Travel Section, and I find that their prices are even better! We always book with them now for every trip we take.

Well we did book the cruise but decided on staying in Palma for one week prior to. We did get a good price. Helen would love to hear what you thought of "A touch of Africa" as that is the one we chose . We leave on May 31st and cruise on the 8th June. What did you think of the Ports, any yays or nays regarding the tours? Hope you had a great time . Thanks everyone for your thoughtful replies.
K H
