Suggestions for things to do after our Disney cruise debarks on a Sunday at 8:00 am and before 5:00 flight?

Our flight out of Orlando leaves on a Sunday at 5:00 pm. Any ideas of what we can do after we get off the ship early that morning?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it. Any other ideas?

Hello,

Linger on the ship for a leisurely breakfast, relax before a long day of travel. They serve breakfast on the ship on the day of debarkation and the line to get off the ship starts to get really long. Have a leisurely breakfast and wait for the line to go away.

You might consider getting a day room at the Hyatt Orlando Airport - it is $60 for a dayroom, and you have a place to rest and relax, take a nap, eat a leisurely lunch before your flights. I get a dayroom often before my flights to the West Coast.

What about going to Disney World for the day? You could spend the day in Downtown Disney? Pleasure Island? Disney Quest? You can buy a 1 day pass online at a discounted rate and you could get transfers from the ship to WDW and then, catch a shuttle or towncar to the airport.

Have fun! Good luck!

You probably won't have as much time as you think. Don't count on an 8am disembarkment- you could still be on board until 10am, again the post above to have a late breakfast is a good one. You are about an hour from the airport. As for Disney- no time in my opinion. The Kennedy Space center is an excellent choice if you haven't been there, consider renting a car and driving back- then you could take your time and have plenty of touring/dining options. Avis has cars, I believe.

After our cruise, we drove to Orlando and enjoyed a leisurely lunch at Downtown Disney, and shopped before heading to the airport. There's so much to do there - like DisneyQuest - that there's something for everyone.

Just a follow-up to my original post. Although I pulled hard to go to the Kennedy Space Center, noone else in my party was interested. Instead, we spent the afternoon at Univeral's Islands of the Adventure and had a wonderful time.

Not far from the port is what is called Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The entrance is on Rte 528 connected to the Kennedy Space Center. It is the place where the original space shots went off. It's preserved into a museum. It still has the original huts with the original "computers", etc. It's very interesting.

Hers's a great website for it:
