We have a 10 month old daugher and are flying to Honolulu in July for a cruise. I'm curious what is the best type of stroller to get for both the flight and the cruise line (NCL). I've been on cruises before and haven't really noticed strollers. are the $20 ones worth it or should I spend a little more for a fully reclining one? i'd very much appreciate your feedback. thanks

You may want one that reclines so your daugther can sleep/nap in it and you don't have to be in the cabin every nap time. And there's a place to keep all the things a 10 month old needs so you don't have to lug a diaper bag, bottles, toys, etc. This is the kind I usually see on a cruise.

My husband and I have traveled with our little girls since they were infants and we have found that a cheap reclining stroller works for us. We picked up a Baby Bus reclining stroller for $30 at Walmart. We didn't want to take our expensive stroller on the an airplane because baggage handlers don't always take the greatest care in handling these items. Also you want one that folds easily and is light weight because it will have to go through the x-ray machine.

Have you ever tried travelling with a stroller? Have you tried to take one through the airport security or even check a stroller in as baggage? I would suggest some home work on that front with the airline and airport security before buying anything. You might find that (1) the airline charges you more than $20 just to check it as luggage and (2) it may be all bent and broken by the time you retrieve it.

On the other hand, you might want to investigate a cradle type folding car seat. You might find it more convienent.
