stinking horizon?
 

are there major plumbing problems on this ship now and do cabins smell like sewage and urine? are the carpets dirty and stained? this is what i have heard but i also heard the ship was renovated in 2002. please clear this up for me...

My wife and I were in the Horizon in January 2001. The Horizon is an older ship and it is also small by comparison with the newer ships. However, we did not notice any bad odors at any time. Let alone urine or sewer smell!! We found the cabins very clean, and the whole ship looked clean to us. I do not know if things have changed since then.
One thing I can tell you, no matter what, there are always those who have to complain about everything. We were satisfied ,and did enjoy our cruise very much. We will be sailing on the new QM2 next March. I can assure you, that someone will complain about something. Maybe the tea was not hot enough, or the lobster was not cooked to their satisfaction.

No, I haven't been on it. I just meant that what you said sounds disgusting.

We did a New Year's cruise on Horizon this past year. Nothing at all wrong with the ship -- It is an older ship but much more quaint. Everything was first class. ((b))

I was on this ship to Bermuda 7/2001
and there appeared to be som plumbing problems. Actually right on my floor.
Although they were working on in a good part of the trip the worst that happened is that the hall smelt at times and the carpet was a bit damp a few times in the hallway. I was not there to hang out in the hallway and sometimes these situations can not be avoided.
