more troubles for holland america the statendam had to be towed back to vancouver last night after all its generators failed, last word on the news was that they hoped to fix the problem and revise the itinary.

Didn't Holland just get fined for dumping again?

cruise now cancelled completely as repairs will take 2 to 3 days.

According to CNN there was a fire in the generator room that knocked out the generators,propulsion, and navigation systems. Bummer

This and all those people getting sick on the Ryndam. What's going on with Holland America - bad luck or sloppiness?

I think it is just a coincidence with this string of bad luck. I just got off the Volendam during the first week of the flu virus on the Ryndam. Everything went off without a hitch for us, we were well looked after, and several items exceeded my expectations. I still remember fondly that heaping plate of Alaska King Crab for dinner on just the first night. Needless to say, dinner was the highlight every evening for me, and I only gained 5 pounds by the end of the cruise!

Fine was 1.5 mil for NCL.<BR>The bug that hit the Ryndam also on Canadian train and resort camp. I was on the Noordam in March and 90% got the flu.
