St. Petersburg tours
Will be cruising Dream in the Baltic 7/24/04. Unable to get visa for St. Petersburg. Any comments on NCL tours

Have you looked into Red October? They will arrange for a visa for you. Here is their email:

I probably should have wrote more - Red October is a private tour organization which is highly recommended. I have not used them but considered it for a cancelled trip this year. I know several who have used them and spoke very higly of them.
If you book with them, you do not need to obtain your own visa. They will great you when you disembark from the ship and will get you through customs/immigration. The tour is pricey if there is only 2 of you but if there are 4, it is pretty reasonable. |
We used Red October for two days last year, and it was amazing. They tailored their standard itinerary to our interests, were a pleasure to deal with, and the guide and driver were both wonderful.

meant to say "they will greet you" when you disembark.

If you don't go with Red October, here's some ideas.
First of all, we'll be on the Dream too! But we're going August 5th. We've set up 3 excursions through NCL which include Peterhof-Russian Versailles, Catherdral on Spilled Blood & Waterways and Spectacular St. Petersburg. We just didn't want to spend the money with Red October. I'd love to see a report when you return. Have a wonderful time, the weather should be quite nice for you. Are you spending anytime in London before or after the cruise? Happy Sailing!!!! |
When we went on the Orient Lines last summer, with four of us travelling together, Red October for two days was cheaper than either two full day shore excursions or four half day excursions.
|
I actually prefer half-day excursions. I don't like to be tied up for that long with crowds.
Hey, Abram did you see some that I mentioned? I'm pretty excited about the Cathedral of the Spilled Blood. We go there by boat for a different perspective. Then tour the cathedral after the ride. Happy Travels!!! |
Theresa: Thanks for the information. Red October is something I had not heard about. However, I think I will look into the NCL tours that you suggested. We will be spending two days in LOndon before boarding the DREAM. Hope you enjoy your cruise. We can exchange experiences when you return.
