St. Petersburg, Russia Port Tour
I am taking a Disney Cruise port tour while in St. Petersburg, Russia. The tour description includes Catherine's Palace and the Hermitage. Lunch is in St. Petersburg in between these two visits. I am wondering if I will see the Church of Our Saviour on the Spilled Blood? It is not mentioned in the tour description. Would it be impossible to miss? Or is it out of the way? Thanks for any clarifications!

In my experience, if the cruise tour description doesn't mention a place, you don't go there.
We did a private your in St P. with Red October It was cheaper than the cruise line tour and we were able to personalize it to our own interests. Fabulous.

I forgot to say that most cruise lines have tours that hit the major attractions but that means you need two days. If your cruis stop is only one day then this explains things. However if you have two days then there should be other tours available that hit the major attractions.
That being said and as this topic has been discussed a lot here consider Red October, Allla and Denrus. All have good reviews.

Thanks, everyone. We only have one day in each of our port stops. The cruise is a gift to my husband and me. There were no other longer cruises with dates that would work for us this summer. We will get a "taste" of each place. I switched to a city tour with the Hermitage. I thought for a first time visit, that would be a better option.

You could also skip out on the group lunch and go see the church as it's close by. Arrange with your tour guide where to meet and when. If you miss that, you will have to be back at wherever the tour ends at a specified time. It's all possible to do.

Just remember that if you are on a guided tour and don't have a Russian visa then you are usually obliged to stay with the tour. These types of tours suffice for a visa, otherwise w/o a visa you can't get off the ship. I am not sure if your guide can or would allow you to go off your your own. Just be sure.
