Don't know about snorkeling in PV or Mazatlan, but in Cabo, Pelican Rock is a good snorkeling spot. It's near Lover's beach/El Arco. Have one of the glass bottom boats at the marina to drop you off and arrange for a later pick up. There are no facilities at the beach, so you'll have to bring snorkel gear with you. The water in Cabo can be very cold depending on the season - I rented a shorty (wetsuit) at one of the dive shops at the marina for $5 and was glad to have it. If you're interested in an organized snorkeling trip, the Cabo Expeditions tour was fun. They use inflatable rafts which means smaller group sizes and gets them to the locations faster. Stops at two locations - Santa Maria cove and Pelican Rock. Hope this helps.

We were on the Carnival Elation last year at this time, and attempted to snorkel in Cabo, but rough waters made it impossible for the glass bottom boats to get to shore. There were also an abundance of jelly fish in the water that made jumping out of the boat undesirable, not to mention the fact that once out of the boats, getting a ride back could have been difficult. We rented the snorkel equip on the ship, and wasted the money. Wished we would have signed up for the snorkel shore tour instead, as then, we would have been entitled to a refund.

Deb,<BR><BR>We snorkeled off the shores outside our hotel the La Jolla de Mismoloya. It was wonderful. We had a guide that took us around the point of the lagoon and we had a really good time.<BR><BR>I did enjoy snorkeling in Cozumel much more though. The water was blue and clear as a bell. In PVR the water is more of a clear green color, but still pretty.

Deb,<BR><BR>In PVR we stayed at the La Jolla de Mismoloya. We were in the original bldg and they were just about to begin construction on the new ones. We had a 1 bedroom suite, with 2 bathrooms, a living room and fully equipped kitchen. The floors and bathrooms were all marble, it was beautiful, with a balcony that overlooked the ocean/lagoon. It is where Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor filmed "Night of the Iguana" and fell in love and then married. We rented a guide and our equipment right there on the beach at the hotel. And we booked a day trip on a party boat that took us to a fishing village down the coast a ways and we rode horses up the mountains to a natual swimmng pool with a natural rock slide and waterfall. Then we came down and had lunch on the beach. It was wonderful.<BR><BR>In Cozumel, I stayed at the Paradius. In the oceanview tower. They had 2 swimming pools (one with swim-up bar) and the other was an olympic size pool. There was an activities desk as well where you could rent snorkeling gear, and this property had horseback riding included. We opted to hire the guide for a private ride ( I don't like riding in groups much, as I am a skilled horse woman). But the Paradius is the last hotel on the beach on that side of the island, and beyond it on one side is miles of beach, and on the other side is the El Cozumeleno, which has a pier out off it's beach where they feed the fish numerous times a day to encourage them to stick around. We also took a day trip for snorkeling and it was great. They took us to various locations, and at each one there was an abundance of fish. We were literally surrounded at one site with 100's of them.<BR><BR>Lots of choices and usually one isn't any better than the other because all of these places are really beautiful and unforgettable.
