Small boat cruising

Wife and I are considering a south of France river cruise next September or so. We prefer a small boat, say twenty or so passengers. Can anyone steer me to a source for this type experience? Thanks.

Are you asking just about a river cruise? 20 passengers is pretty small for a river boat. There are some barges in that size using canals if that is your interest.

fmp: I guess thats my interest. I'm sure that this type of experience exists somewhere. I just don't know where or how to start. I want good wine and food, even on shore if necesary.

You may get some pretty good responses from www.cruisecritic.com. Go to "Boards" in the yellow bar left and then scroll down to "Special Interest Cruising" and "River & Canal cruises". It is a fairly active forum.

VBT offers a Bike and Barge tour in France. VBT.com will have info. I have done two of their bike tours in Italy but not France. The food was quite good.

If you like small boat cruising, why not a gulet cruise off Meditereanian coat of Turkey. We have been several times and love it

The OP question concerned September 2010. They are mostly like back from their trip. Why would you want to open a year old question? Am I the only surprise when someone digs up an old question to answer.
