skeptical about cruises.com
Hi,
I booked my cruise through cruises.com and am becoming skeptical. The person I booked it through said he would mail me an invoice in a few days. It has been 2 weeks and I still didn't receive the invoice. I called him and left a voicemail and haven't heard anything back. I hope this wasn't a rip off. Has anyone used them with good results? Can anyone tell me what I should do here? I read a lot about cruisequick on this forum. Unfortunately I already booked using cruises.com when I read this. Please advise.

Thanks
I booked a cruise with them about a year and 1/2 ago. Nothing to worry about. It's the biggest on-line cruise agency around. But you are right, their customer service is something else. If I remember correctly, you are allowed to speak only to the person you dealt with originally. It took days to get a call back. On the other hand the one special request I had was to get my cruise papers early since I was leaving for Europe 2 weeks prior to the cruise, and they delivered. I did not go back to them only because I felt that I just became a number after I made the payment, not because they did not deliver.
Enjoy your cruise!

In my experience I have found them to be one of the highest, most competitive agencies for cruise bookings. They came in $800 higher than a cruise I booked by cruisequick.com. Did you purchase travel insurance? You may want to see if you can find cheaper rates. Maybe it was just my rate in particular that came in so high but I would not request another rate from them again. The fact that you never received an invoice may give you an out. Enjoy your cruise!

There is no company on the net called cruiseS.com, you probably mean cruise.com.

I've used them many times and never had a problem. Due to their rule about only dealing with the agent you booked with it can be a little slow getting a call back.

When you call their 800 number listen to the prompts, there is an option to talk to someone else if you have already booked your cruise and are waiting for documents. Good luck and happy sailing.

That's an interesting observation by Dr Bob. When you type cruieS.com it takes you to Mytravelco/CruisesOnly website and that's the one I was talking about. When you type in cruise.com then you end up with cruise.com, and I've never dealt with them. So my original advise was for cruiseS.com only.

Ktyson: If you are concerned with CruisesOnly (the largest cruise agency in the world--I believe), don't be worried. Call again but don't leave another message with your agent: stay on the line and speak to a "real" person. I have found them able to help when my particular agent is gone for the weekend, etc.
I have booked over 20 cruises with that company. NEVER a problem. They are willing to "hold your hand" through the entire process.
Have checked prices on their site then phoned them to even get a better price.
Good luck!!

I'm sure everything is OK....double check your email for a confirmation. I'm not familiar with cruise.com but assuming it's internet based like cruisequick.com, your confirmation will come with all the details spelled out via email. Could it have been accidently deleted? I got my confirmation from cruisequick.com within 1 hour....\

Cruise.com sounds like a large company and I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. I can only guess that MAYBE it got accidently deleted with all the junk emails we all receive. Good Luck!
