Should I bring an umbrella??
 

I want to let people know that Carnival doe snot provide rain gear. Last year I cruised on a Celebrity ship and they gave us all umbrellas at the port when it was raining. We saw people from Norwegian and Disney ships that had ponchos.<BR><BR>So, if you cruise Carnival, you better bring your own small umbrella from home.

I think it also stinks that Carnival does not provide other clothing as well. When I cruised with them I had to pack my own shoes, underwear, dress shirts, pants. I thought cruises were all inclusive.

yes,we always bring an umbrella. we have never depended on our transportation and accomodations provider(which a ship is) to save us from rain. The umbrella is also good for very sunny and hot days (like a Mary Poppins parasol) exept people have told us that they wish they had thought of it on tors, etc.

In Guadaloupe we did the rainforest/rum distillery excursion and it rain very hard while we were in the open. My wife and I each had small umbrellas and were dry, but others got soaked. They hated it even worse when they got back in the freezing cold bus. I always bring a small backpack (like the kind that kids bring to school) and I toss in 2 umbrellas, water bottle, and maybe a light sweater for my wife who tends to get cold.

We brought those little plastic ponchos. $1.00 a pair at the dollar store. Threw them in our shore bag and ended up using them in all three ports. They sold ponchos on the ship but not for 50 cents apiece.

Lousy of Carnival not to provide every convience that anyone could possibly want or need, as Ronald mentions.<BR>However, I did hear they are going to, in the future, start providing used underwear for those who forgot it at home--but the problem with that is that some one would complain about the wrong sizes.<BR>

Doe snot is more properly referred to as "deer mucus."

The Disney ponchos are not given away free or even lent out. Disney gives nothing away free.<BR><BR>Most ships now have compimentary use of bathrobes. I guess you can try wearing those.<BR><BR>Paul
