Shore trips from Oosterdam in March
 

Hi, looking for some info on shore trips from Cabo, Mazatlan and PV. First, saw a trip in Mazatlan with King David for a birdwatching tour. Wondered if anyone had done this and what there was to see. I've seen mangroves and pelicans/herons so if that's all it is would do something else. Also, which is recommended Deer Island or Stone Island? Is it hard to get there on your own or is it best to pay for a ship excursion. In Cabo, was interested in taking out a kayak but don't have lots of experience; is that likely to be a problem?? Another possibility is going to Todos Santos--has anyone done that? YOur thoughts? Finally, in PV are there any horseback riding outfits that are particularly recommended? Which city has the most interesting historical section PV or Mazatlan? Thanks for your help

There is another posting of someone that sailed on Dawn Princess, read that it will give an impression.
Personnaly I like P. Vallarta better than Mazatlan.
P. Vallarta has a nice old Town with a boulevard (Malecon) along the sea. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars etc. down there.
Also the famous curch is worth a visit.
Take a yellow cab from the hwy close to the port (the white cabs in port are more expensive), make a rate, it will be cheap. Or for fun take the citybus also from that hwy for a few pesos.

I will be on the OS in April and have been plannning independent excursions for my group of 200.

Mazatlan Frank comes highly recommended by friends and clients and we have engaged his services there.

In PV, I personally am headed to Krystal for a day of beach and spa services, my hubby is ziplining and friends are doing the ATV which is supposed to be great.

The day in Cabo has been cut quite short due to pod issues so I would be cautious in planning very much there.

Hi, Thanks for the help. I was dissapointed in the time in Cabo--it came up just after we booked. For that reason, we booked a ship shore trip--this is only my second cruise and if I feel I have to watch the clock too much, I don't enjoy myself. So, even though it's a bit expensive, that seemed a good decision We are leaving PV open because there seems so much to do there, we want to be able to choose what we want. Thanks for seconding my impression that PV will be the highlight. We were thinking of going to Krystal's, so that recommendation helps too. Thanks again
