Shore excursion suggestions for Roatan, Costa Maya and Belize City

My husband and I and my 18 year old son are taking a cruise out of New Orleans next week with ports in Cozumel and the ports above. We've been to Cozumel and went to Chankanaab to snorkel which we really enjoyed. I'd love suggestions of excursions that others really enjoyed. We love nature and seeing animals from that area but are open to other active suggestions. Also should we book ones through Norweigan or through of sources?

Hi. Roatan has some awesome snorkeling but the West Bay area gets clogged with a lot of cruiseship visitors. If you want to do something different, you could take a catamaran snorkel to the less populated east area aboard sv free radical (www.svfreeradical.com) or go to Fantasy Island. There is excellent snorkeling off their dock. There is a private company taking people there but I don't think its available on the ship. Maybe Google it. Bodden tours also offers some fun excursions. . .so there are a lot of options. Have fun on our island.

We booked a cave-tubing tour in Belize City that was fantastic! We had our own private guide thru regtourbz.com and had a great time. He was recommended by another Fodorite, and I am very thankful to her for the recommendation.
