September 9 Cruise Copenhagen to Rome - any one going?
Just wondering if anyone was going on the Star Princess leaving Copenhagen September 9th 2010.
|
A better place to find fellow passengers is at the roll call at Cruise Critic. I would love to join you but we are leaving for the Holy Land in early October on the Pacific Princess.

Copenhagen to Rome? How long is that cruise? A month?
|
Yes, we are on the same cruise. We are looking forward to our trip and going to stay in Copenhagen before cruise for two days. Have you been to Copenhagen before and if so do you have a suggestion as to where to stay?
Part of the Cruise Critic message board and there is alot of information etc. |
Dayenu - nope, the cruise is 14 days. Start in Copenhagen, one day in Oslo, one in Rotterdam, one in Dover, one in LeHavre France, Lisbon, Barcelona, Cannes, Genoa, Pisa and ends up in Rome. There are days at sea which I am not sure I will like - this is my first cruise. Have been in most of these countries before but there is always something new to see. We will fly directly to Amsterdam for 4 days as we have been to Rome a few times.

Wonderful itinerary! I'll look out for your report - maybe we'll do it too.
Was it difficult to find open jaw tix? I mean, price-wise? |
Dayenu - it was easy to get the tickets and the cost was $1069 which is okay for flying out of Milwaukee. We are flying Lufthansa from Milwaukee to Chicago to Frankfurt to Copenhagen. Then United from Amsterdam to Chicago to Milwaukee. We could drive to Chicago but we are so tired of that 2 hour drive and someone has to take us so it is easier to fly to Chicago.
I wanted to go with Icelandair and glad I didn't - we bought our tickets before the volcano blew up. Icelandair has some very cheap prices if you can fit into their routes. I am trying to talk my sister into flying from London to Lisbon so we would skip the days at sea and have more time in Lisbon but so far I can't convince her. The ship docks in Dover and we could train to the airport and one way tickets to Lisbon start at $66 with Easyjet and $103 British Air and both are direct flights. A one way ticket from Rome to Amsterdam was very expensive so we purchased a round trip ticket for $133 with KLM. Am wondering what will happen when we don't how up for the return flight. |
