We had a great experience on the Carnival Paradise. No problems with service at all. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful.
I didn't think people were pushy about drinks at all. They simply walked by with a tray and if you wanted a drink you stopped them.
We enjoyed the show every night.
The midnight buffet was the weakest link on the ship. However, dinners in the dining room arrived promptly, were delicious, and nicely presented.
I would not hesitate to sail on the Carnival Paradise again.

Have been on Carnival,RCCL and Celebrity. We prefer RCCL, even tho Celebrity was more expensive, the food was no better than RCL and we had rooms with balconies on both and found the decor, cabin size better, also kids program and entertainment far superior in our opinion on RCL.The less said about Carnival the better, suffice to say we will never sail Carnival again. We changed travel agents after this cruise. We have friends who went on Princess in Dec 02 and loved it. I agree with the comment that the more expensive the cruise the older the age group as we noticed that especially between Carnival and Celebrity.

While I agree with those that state tha typically the more expensive the ship, the older the crowd, I do not agree with people's comments about Carnival. I have been on Princess, Celebrity, Holland, RCL, Carnival and Cunard (many years ago). My preference would be between RCL and Carnival simply because I prefer the casualness of both of them. Celebrity would be next on my list but it is a little more upscale. I hated Holland America and before anyone bashes me, please note that this is simply my preference.

My husband and I are in our early 30's and I have to dress in suits 5 days out of the week so when I am on vacation, I prefer not to dress up. RCL and Carnival suit those needs. Yes, I do wish there were fewer children running around, however, that is the price you pay when you go on a mega ship and one that is notably more affordable than some. Both of these lines offer more entertainment that anyone could ask for. I found the rooms suitable in both and yes Carnival's was a little more garish but it did not bother me. Carnival's was also a little larger so that was the pay off. I found the food to be quite good on both lines. Maybe I am easy to please. The staff are wonderful on both lines as well. I only like to go on the larger cruises of both lines and have not been on Carnival's older and smaller ships ever so I can not attest to those. I reently was on Pride last year and it is new and fabulous. I personally think a cruise is what you make of it. Whereas I am not impressed with Holland like most, I will not say I would never go with them again. I will say that it this point in my life, my money is better spent with Carnival or RCL.
