Seattle to Vancouver
What are some ways to travel from Seattle to Vancouver? Our cruise ends in Seattle and we wish to spend sone time in Vancouver afterwards and in fact fly home from there. Is there a scenic train perhaps and how long is the ride? Thnak you.

There is one train via Amtrak leaving early morning. There is also Quick Shuttle and one way car rental. Since your cruise ends downtown Seattle, overnight and see some sights, then train the next am to Vancouver. taxi to your hotel- Priceline is the way to go in Vancouver, just consistant excellent awards. A cab to the airport is about $28ca+++ allow 2 hours if flying back to US.

Sounds great. Thanks!

You should consider taking the Victoria Clipper from Seattle to Victoria, B.C. Victoria is a beautiful city. The Inner Harbour is a must see. Depending on the weather and your time, a day trip to Butchart Gardens is worth seeing. See www.victoriaclipper.com.
From there you can take a grayline bus from downtown Victoria to downtown Vancouver. It will take you on a scenic ferry ride through the Gulf Islands (OK, it's not a cruise ship, but the scenery is incredible. I was there in the summer and again at New Year's). In Vancouver, be sure to visit Granville Market. Stanley Park is also beautiful. |
Thanks. More good info. :-)

My opinoin only but Victoria is never a day trip for me. The above recommendation would be good only with at least one overnight, better for 2. :) This is a great area to get in an Orca whale watch if of interest? Certainly more than enough to occupy a couple days. :)

The ferry from Seattle to Vancouver is a scenic option, but not as scenic as the cruise you will have just taken.
Victoria is a great stop-over if you have the time. You will probably have to overnight, because the ferry trips take time. If you like aquariums, Vancouver has a good one. The Capsilano suspension bridge is impressive, but the cost is excessive in my opinion. |
