Sea sickness
Hi,
Any suggestions for preventing sea sickness? Last cruise the ship doctor had a pill you drank with CocaCola and it worked really well but we can't remember what it was called. Think we took it for three days but it started working within an hour. (Sea was really rocky because of a hurricane.) Should we get a prescription from a doctor at home or wait until we get on board to see what the medics there have? (Ginger on a really rough boat ride from Cairns to Green Island in AU didn't help.) Hopefully, we won't need any medicine. Thanks, Kat & Krew |
My husband has had good results from over the counter meclizine, the generic version of Bonine.

You might want to try the bands that you wear on your wrists. I've used those for other times that I thought I might get motion sickness and they worked. Luckily, I didn't need them on the cruise we were on in January.

I'm not to susceptible to seasickness but I've heard good reports about the wrist bands. Choice of cabin can make a big difference, lower down and midships is often less bumpy. One one choppy evening DB felt extremely queasy and found that lying in a bath of water helped.

Thanks, folks.
