Sea Dream Question- and have you Sailed on Them?
I have never thought of myself as a "cruising" person but a great opportunity has come up to take a cruise on Sea Dream through the Greek Islands, ending in Istanbul (never visited Turkey).
The small size of the ship is appealing and the Greek Islands, frankly, haven't been on my radar so perhaps this is a good way to see places I might not have, otherwise. Has anyone taken this trip on Sea Dream? Other comments? |
I haven't sailed on SeaDream in the Greek Isles, but I have sailed on SeaDream II in the Caribbean. If you are interested, the story about that cruise is at http://cruisediva.com/seadreamII_diary.htm
That should give you an idea of the onboard experience, even though it was a different itinerary. I have taken several cruises on larger ships that called on the Greek Islands and feel that the smaller SeaDream ship is ideal for the ports, especially smaller ones that large ships don't visit. There is no crowding on the ship at all and you'll only find crowds in port if there are other (large) ships there. SeaDream does a really good job with shore excursions as well. Any questions, just ask :) Linda |
Thanks, Linda.
I'm concerned about the motion of the ship, as it's smaller. Was this an issue for you? Last time I did anything on the sea, in Hawaii, I was deathly ill. I don't want to spend a week that way! Any idea of the demographic of these Med cruises (American's, Brits etc?)... Just curious. |

Did you end up taking the Sea Dream? I'm contemplating taking the Athens to Istanbul itinerary also and the small size for the Greek Isles seemed very appealing. Love to hear how you trip turned out! |
I haven't cruised with them but still find it appealing.
Considering for October. I have found others on cruisecritic that have further information. Try there. |
