Santiago - Valpariaso

What is the best way to get from Santiago down to the cruise port in Valpariaso?? Thanks.

If you are really bewildered and don't speak the language, it's best to spend the money for the ship's shuttle. Or of course you could try a taxi. Show a sign of the ship such as a brochure so the driver can understand where you want to go.

Santiago is a long way from Valparaiso - it took us a couple of hours as I remember. There are shuttle services that you can book. The drivers speak English so no need to show a picture of a ship.
Go to cruisecritic.com and register there. You can then find your cruise under the roll call area of the forum and ask the question there for recommendations. If you need help navigating to the right thread on cruise critic just post here again with your cruise line and date and I can guide you to it exactly. The roll call forums are invaluable for exchanging information re tours etc.

do heed traveller69's advice.

a cruise novice friend did just that, recv'd tons of advice.

She also opted for 1 of the land-based tour companies & saved a ton of $$ over the ship-sponsored excursions

Another nod in support of going to cruisecritic.com The best advise you are going to get here I think.
