ROOM UPGRADE

How do you get a room upgrade on a cruise? We will be taking our second cruise in June and was wondering how to get an upgrade and if it is something we talk to the travel agent about ahead of time, or do we try to get it when we arrive at the port. Anyone suggestions. THANKS

Which cruiseline?<BR><BR>Did you book a specific cabin or a guarantee?<BR><BR>Are you a past passenger with this specific cruiseline?<BR><BR>Here is a great article on upgrades on Carnival:<BR><BR>http://www.cruisenewsdaily.com/nf20206.html<BR><BR>See if I can make this clickable:<BR><BR>&lt;http://www.cruisenewsdaily.com/nf20206.html&gt;

Hi Nanette,<BR><BR>The best way is to visit a travel agent and see what promotions are being offered. A true upgrade is better than a "guarantee" since without a cabin assignment you do not know where on the ship you will end up. Many have ended up under the disco or kitchen. Or maybe even in the very front of the ship with the waves slapping up against your walls all night.<BR><BR>Paul

Thanks for the information. I read the article in cruise news daily, and it helped. This is a free cruise for me & my husband; last year we were on the Nordic Empress when the engine had a fire and had to be flown home after returning back to Bermuda . Luckily it happened on the Fri back to NY. , so even if I don't get an upgrade, the cruise is free. THANKS

Hi Nanette,<BR><BR>How nice. Now if only NCL would do that when they have their fires and crashes.<BR><BR>Paul
